BitMart sets Aug. 26 trading shutdown as exchange begins orderly wind-down
The platform has stopped new registrations, deposits and new trading activity, with spot and futures services scheduled to end next month and account operations continuing into 2027.
BitMart has started a phased shutdown of its trading platform, with spot, futures and other trading services scheduled to stop at 01:00 UTC on Aug. 26. The exchange's official notice says the decision followed an evaluation of its operating conditions, the market environment and its future strategic direction.
BitMart began the process on July 26 by gradually stopping new registrations and deposits. Futures accounts moved toward reduce-only mode, spot trading stopped accepting new orders and automated services such as copy trading, grid trading and API trading began to be discontinued. The company says the platform will officially cease trading operations on Jan. 31, 2027.
The August deadline is the trading cutoff
The most immediate date is Aug. 26 at 01:00 UTC, when BitMart plans to discontinue spot, futures and other trading services. Futures positions still open at that point may be settled under the applicable mark-price, index-price or contract rules, with detailed arrangements to follow through dedicated announcements. Earn, staking, lending and Launchpad products will be discontinued in phases under their own schedules.
That sequence creates a difference between the end of trading and the end of account access. BitMart says users will retain a way to log in, review balances and historical records and submit withdrawal requests after the platform's trading functions stop. The exchange recommends completing identity checks, closing positions and submitting withdrawals before the August cutoff so those steps are not compressed into the final hours.
Compliance becomes part of the exit
BitMart's withdrawal process includes the kind of checks that usually sit behind a regulated financial exit: account identity, login devices, withdrawal addresses, source of funds, trading history, Travel Rule requirements and sanctions screening. The company also warns users about impersonators and says staff will not request a private key, recovery phrase or fee for faster processing.
For the market, the announcement is a reminder that exchange closure is an operational event, not just a headline. Trading access, custody, records and withdrawals can follow different clocks. The next evidence will be BitMart's asset-specific redemption notices, the handling of open futures positions and the performance of withdrawal reviews as more users leave.
