Crypto exchange BitMart plans to wind down its trading platform, saying it will discontinue spot, futures and other trading services on Aug. 26 at 01:00 UTC. The exchange published the orderly-cessation notice after reviewing its operating conditions, market environment and future strategy.
BitMart said it plans to cease trading-platform operations entirely at 15:59 UTC on Jan. 31, 2027. It did not give a specific reason beyond the factors cited in the notice, and it did not announce a buyer or a successor platform.
The shutdown timetable
The exchange began suspending new registrations and deposits on July 26. It also moved futures accounts toward reduce-only mode, stopped accepting new spot orders and began discontinuing copy trading, grid trading, API trading and other automated services.
Open futures positions remaining at the Aug. 26 trading cutoff may be settled using the mark price, index price or other settlement rules then in effect. BitMart said separate settlement details would follow. Earn, staking, lending and launchpad products are being discontinued in phases.
Withdrawals remain the immediate issue
BitMart says withdrawals will remain available after trading ends and recommends that users close positions before 01:00 UTC on Aug. 26 and submit withdrawal requests before 05:00 UTC that day. The platform plans to keep account access available for a period after the January termination so users can review records and request withdrawals under the procedures then in force.
The exchange’s notice is a company statement, not an independent assessment of its reserves or users’ ability to withdraw. CoinDesk reported that BitMart’s BMX token fell sharply after the closure announcement. The key unresolved details are the final settlement process, the duration of post-termination account access and how the exchange will handle any delayed or manually reviewed withdrawals.
