Harmony weighs a rollback after an attacker created 4 billion ONE

The unauthorized mint increased the token count by about 26% against the pre-incident supply and sent ONE down roughly 40% as the team froze its bridge.

ONE fell about 40% during Asian trading Wednesday. The price move reflects direct dilution risk as well as uncertainty over which version of the ledger exchanges and validators will accept if the project tries to erase the mint.

A rollback would reverse legitimate transactions too

Harmony said it was working on patch and rollback options. A rollback would return the chain to a state before the exploit, removing the unauthorized tokens that remain onchain. It would also discard legitimate transfers and contract activity recorded after the chosen block, creating a separate loss-allocation problem.

The team had not published a root-cause report or final recovery plan at publication time. Exchanges and bridge users therefore need to track Harmony's official updates and confirm the accepted chain state before resuming deposits or withdrawals.
