Ondo Finance has appointed Adam Schlisman as chief financial officer, bringing in a former Blockchain.com finance chief as the tokenized-assets company expands its onchain capital-markets business. Schlisman most recently served as CFO at global macro hedge fund Monashee Investment Management.
Before Monashee, Schlisman oversaw finance, treasury and risk at Blockchain.com during a period of rapid growth. Earlier, he spent nearly a decade at Graham Capital Management in portfolio-management and risk roles. The appointment was announced as Ondo continues to build products that put U.S. Treasuries and equities on blockchain rails.
A finance hire for a bigger platform
Ondo was founded in 2021 by former Goldman Sachs executives and has become one of the largest tokenized real-world-asset platforms. The company says its products represent more than $3.5 billion across the business, while Schlisman said Ondo Stocks had crossed $1 billion in total value locked.
The platform is available on Solana, Ethereum and BNB Chain and connects to exchanges, wallets and custodians including Binance, Bitget, MetaMask, Ledger and Blockchain.com. That distribution footprint makes finance operations more than a back-office concern: treasury, reporting, liquidity and risk controls must work across several networks and customer channels.
Tokenization moves into its operating phase
Schlisman said Ondo had reached “the inflection point every finance leader looks for,” pointing to the scale of Ondo Stocks, the growth of Ondo Perps and work with traditional market-infrastructure providers such as DTCC. The quote describes the company's ambition; the operational test is whether products can keep that scale while meeting the recordkeeping, compliance and corporate-action demands of the underlying securities.
That is a different challenge from issuing a token. A tokenized Treasury product needs reliable pricing, subscriptions, redemptions and reserve processes. A tokenized stock product must also deal with ownership records, dividends, voting and restrictions on who can hold or transfer the asset. A senior finance and risk executive is being added at the point where those systems need to become repeatable.
The next question is institutional durability
Ondo's growth is arriving as banks, asset managers and crypto firms compete to make tokenized funds and securities part of ordinary market plumbing. The business case depends on more than attracting crypto users: it requires institutions to treat onchain products as dependable instruments with predictable settlement and clear legal ownership.
Schlisman's background gives Ondo experience across crypto finance, hedge-fund operations and risk management as that transition accelerates. The hire does not by itself prove adoption, but it shows where the company believes the bottleneck now sits: in scaling financial operations around the tokens, not simply creating more of them.
