THORChain says v3.20 brings native Monero and Zcash swaps
The protocol says users can swap XMR and ZEC against bitcoin, ether and stablecoins without wrapped assets or centralized custody, although parts of its public swap documentation still show an older supported-asset list.

THORChain says its version 3.20 protocol upgrade adds native swaps for Monero (XMR) and Zcash (ZEC) against assets including bitcoin, ether and stablecoins. The change is described as a new access path for privacy-focused coins that does not require wrapped tokens or depositing with a centralized exchange.
The announcement appeared in a Chainwire release carried by The Defiant. THORChain's public site lists Zcash and Monero among the networks it says users can access, while the site's swap FAQ still displays an older list that does not include either asset. The public evidence supports the launch announcement, but not yet a claim about completed swap volume or broad user adoption.
What changes for users
If the new routes are live as announced, XMR and ZEC holders gain a direct protocol path into major crypto assets without relying on a centralized custodian. That matters especially for Monero users as access to XMR has been restricted on some centralized platforms. The upgrade announcement also names Protocol-Owned Liquidity and a Stable Reserve as additional version 3.20 changes.
The next check is operational rather than promotional: whether the supported-asset list is consistent across THORChain's interface, API and network pools, and whether users can complete the announced routes in practice.
