Hashdex adds HYPE to its nine-asset U.S. crypto index ETF

The filing estimated HYPE's rebalance weight at 3.36%. Bitcoin remained dominant at 74.36%, followed by ether at 11.88%, XRP at 5.21% and solana at 3.79%. Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar and bitcoin cash made up the smaller remaining allocations.

Hashdex said HYPE qualified after joining the Nasdaq CME Crypto Index and meeting criteria covering liquidity, market capitalization, exchange availability, qualified custody and compatibility with generic listing standards. The result is rules-based access, not endorsement of future performance.

The prospectus adds HYPE-specific warnings

The supplement says Hyperliquid became operational only in 2024 and has a shorter record than the fund's more established constituents. It highlights concentrated ownership and governance, scheduled token releases, a comparatively small validator set and dependence on continued use of the Hyperliquid exchange.

It also flags evolving regulation of decentralized perpetual futures. Because much Hyperliquid activity involves leveraged derivatives, adverse licensing or enforcement developments could affect protocol use, demand for HYPE and the ETF's value. A smaller regulated derivatives market may also weaken price discovery and arbitrage compared with bitcoin or ether.

Investors should monitor weights, tracking and reconstitutions. HYPE can leave the index in a future review, and its portfolio share will move with prices and scheduled rebalances. Adding a ninth asset broadens token coverage, but bitcoin's weight means the fund remains far from an equal-weighted basket.

ETF ownership also adds fund-level considerations such as fees, premiums or discounts, custody and tracking difference. A regulated wrapper can simplify brokerage access, but it does not remove the volatility, governance or technical risks of the assets the fund holds. Investors still bear those underlying economic risks through their shares.
