LayerZero unveils ATLAS exchange engine for open and institutional venues

The announcement came in a LayerZero Labs release distributed through PR Newswire and was also reported by The Defiant. LayerZero says current stress tests reached sub-millisecond median latency and 2.641 milliseconds at the 99th percentile. Those are company-reported test results, not live production performance.

A product announcement, not a live venue

ATLAS has no consumer application or venue of its own. Instead, a trading platform or financial institution would keep its users and operate its own front end while using the shared engine. LayerZero says the infrastructure has been in development for two and a half years and that it verifies trades on Zero with zero-knowledge proofs.

LayerZero says ATLAS will launch later this year. Its official Zero page describes the underlying chain as targeting configurable throughput of up to 2 million transactions per second, but that target is not evidence that ATLAS is live or that venues have begun trading on it. The next verifiable milestones are a public test environment, named operators and production settlement data.
