Ether ETFs end inflow streak as bitcoin funds pull in $101 million

The figures are daily creations minus redemptions, not a direct survey of investor conviction. Authorized participants can use inventory, hedges and arbitrage, so a flow number should be read alongside assets under management, premiums or discounts and trading volume.

The signal is a one-day reversal, not a trend change. A 12-session run remains meaningful context, but one outflow day cannot establish whether ether demand has peaked or simply paused.

Bitcoin funds moved the other way

U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs attracted roughly $101.1 million on the same day, reversing after one day of net outflows. BlackRock’s IBIT led with about $115.4 million, while GBTC recorded a $56.2 million outflow; other products contributed smaller inflows.

Different fund flows can reflect portfolio rotation, tax timing, product fees or investors choosing the deeper bitcoin market during macro volatility. They do not prove that capital moved directly from ether into bitcoin, because the creations and redemptions are reported at the fund level.

The useful next check is several days of comparable data. Investors should compare net flows with spot prices, basis, spreads and broader risk conditions. ETF access simplifies brokerage exposure, but it does not remove volatility, tracking error, fees or the possibility that demand reverses quickly.

This snapshot is therefore best treated as market plumbing evidence. It shows where listed-product demand appeared on Sept. 2, while leaving the larger question—whether institutions are building durable ether or bitcoin allocations—open for subsequent sessions.

Because flow data is revised and sometimes reported on different settlement schedules, comparisons should use the same source and cutoff time. A clean time series will be more informative than ranking one day’s winners and losers.
